Pon Group has taken two significant steps in expanding its mobility ecosystem by moving towards full ownership of both Greenwheels and Check Technologies.
We acted as legal counsel to Pon Group on its proposed acquisition of the remaining 60% shareholding in Greenwheels from Volkswagen Financial Services. Pon already held a 40% interest, and through this transaction Pon will obtain full ownership and sole control over Greenwheels. Greenwheels is one of the leading car‑sharing platforms in the Netherlands.
We also assisted Pon Group on its proposed acquisition of the shares in Check Technologies B.V. An affiliate of Pon already held a minority interest, and through this transaction Pon will obtain full ownership and sole control over Check Technologies. Check is a fast‑growing mobility‑technology company active in urban shared mobility and micromobility solutions.
Both acquisitions are notified to the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), as the transaction requires merger clearance. Following ACM approval, the parties will proceed towards completion.
