Shareholders Robert Lightfoot, Tristan Dollinger and Robert Driscoll will be featured presenters at the Spring Wisconsin Assisted Living (WALA) Conference at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells, March 6-8, 2024. It is the state’s largest conference for assisted living professionals and attracts more than 120 vendors and suppliers.

Bob Lightfoot and Tristan Dollinger’s presentation, “Financial and Other Implications Surrounding Admission Agreements,” is geared for finance professionals in long-term care and covers the pre-admission process, including how providers can legally obtain information on financial assets and income, and also explores the use of provisions in admission agreements and related contracts to address common financial issues.

Tristan Dollinger will also co-present “Be Extraordinary, Build Extraordinary: An Overview of Assisted Living Project Development.” This session provides an overview of construction projects for assisted living, long-term care and independent senior living facilities, covering the process, team roles, legal requirements and recent regulatory developments, helping attendees to identify their project team and set realistic expectations based on current industry trends.

Rob Driscoll will present “Exempt or Non-Exempt: That is the Question,” which explores the realities and practicalities of properly calculating overtime, including defining exempt and non-exempt status, calculating overtime pay, and updating policies based on employee job descriptions and titles instead of historical practices.
