At CSB Group, the spirit of giving and corporate social responsibility is woven into the fabric of our organisational ethos. Throughout the year, our team actively participates in diverse fundraising initiatives to support various charitable causes. However, it is during the festive Christmas season that our commitment to generosity truly takes centre stage. Breaking away from the conventional gift exchanges, CSB Group's employees united their holiday cheer in a collective effort to raise funds for charity during the annual Christmas staff event. This distinctive annual tradition not only forges a sense of unity among our staff but also magnifies the true essence of the season. What sets this initiative apart is our Directors' extraordinary commitment to philanthropy. They not only match the funds raised but triple the total amount collected, magnifying the impact of our contribution.

This longstanding tradition culminates in a substantial and heartfelt donation, emphasising CSB Group's steadfast dedication to creating a positive impact in the lives of those in need. Our commitment to making a difference is not just a tradition but a testament to our core values and the enduring spirit of philanthropy within our corporate culture.

The Malta Hospice Movement, a voluntary organisation committed to delivering exemplary palliative care, is one of the beneficiaries of the funds. Currently in the final stages before the anticipated opening later this year, the movement is diligently completing the St Michael Hospice – a cutting-edge Hospice Complex. This facility is designed to accommodate a 16-room In-Patient palliative care unit, each featuring its own garden and bathroom. The expansion plan extends to include enhanced day therapy services and the introduction of multiple Out-Patient clinics. As part of their commitment to excellence, the hospice is actively seeking a foreign consultant to contribute specialised services. Additionally, the premises will house a dedicated unit for the Hospice's education, aiming to elevate the educational aspect of the institution. This multifaceted initiative underscores the Malta Hospice Movement's dedication to enriching the lives of patients and providing vital support to their families.

Another beneficiary is Dar Merhba Bik, a foundation which supports women and their children who have experienced various forms of domestic violence, including emotional, physical, sexual, and financial abuse. The organisation offers two residential services: an emergency facility accommodating up to 14 families called Dar Merhba Bik, and Dar Santa Bakhita, a second-stage facility which opened in 2019, providing apartments for a 12-month period. The program includes a life-skills curriculum covering therapeutic support, parenting, financial management, home maintenance, health education, assistance with emotional issues, legal support, finding alternative accommodation, and support for employment and training to facilitate their reintegration into society.

Furthermore, the fundraising initiatives also benefit The Sovereign Military Order of Malta, an institution deeply rooted in Western and Christian civilisation, renowned for its commitment to caring for the less fortunate and overseeing a multitude of medical, social, and humanitarian projects. The CSB Group donations will be allocated to the ministering of the sick and disabled during pilgrimages to Lourdes.
