Toronto (Canada)  – Michael Shadbolt joins Fasken as counsel in the Global Energy and Climate Group. He is based in the Toronto office.

Michael is an experienced executive, trusted advisor and legal counsel who specialized in global acquisitions and partnership transactions in the renewable energy and clean technology spaces. He was most recently Vice President & General Counsel at a publicly traded global renewable energy developer based in Canada. Here, he focused on the development, financing and construction of renewable and clean energy projects including offshore and onshore wind, solar and efficient thermal energy facilities. In this capacity, Michael provided legal and strategic advice on transactions and partnerships across the global business. He served as Vice President and General Counsel for more than a decade, managing all legal affairs of the Canadian public company and domestic and internal affiliates. Michael also sat as a member of the Management Board of a number of project affiliates and was a member of multiple management committees of the parent company including the Executive Management Committee, Investment Committee, Disclosure, Risk and Whistleblower committees.
