In loving memory of Woody Pananto, S.H.

We are saddened to announce the passing of our esteemed colleague, Mr. Woody Pananto, on the evening of Wednesday, 14 June 2022. He was 54 years old.

Woody graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, in 1994 (class of 1989), and then joined ABNR in 1996. He practiced law for more than 27 years, including 16 years as a partner.

During his years at ABNR, Woody was a key figure in the firm's mining, banking & finance, and project finance practices.

He worked on some of Indonesia's largest and most innovative capital projects over the last quarter century, as well as a long list of high-end M&A and banking & finance matters.

In his spare time, he was a passionate golfer and enjoyed travelling. He was also deeply religious, and an avid enthusiast of Indonesian arts and antiquities, including wayang, Indonesia's traditional puppetry.

Woody was a great character, a dedicated friend, and an excellent teacher. He took people under his wing, believed in and mentored them, and advocated for them. His sense of humour was legendary, and he had that rare knack for cheering people up.

He is survived by his wife, Miranti, and their two daughters. Our heartfelt condolences to his family.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude and appreciation to Woody for his inestimable contribution to ABNR.

Rest well, Woody, it has been a great honor and pleasure to have known you.

You will always be missed!
