TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands, 8 June 2023 – O'Neal Webster is pleased to announce the appointment of Partner Christopher Simpson as Head of the firm's Corporate & Commercial Department. In this role he will oversee the growth and development of the transactional practice, its attorneys and clients, and lead on the delivery of the department's strategic plan.

Called to the British Virgin Islands Bar in 2001, Simpson joined O'Neal Webster in 2010, focusing on cross-border corporate, commercial, banking, finance, investment funds and regulatory matters including fintech and digital assets. Over the course of his career, he has worked on several IPOs, including on AIM, TSX, NASDAQ, SGX and the LSE, and completed groundbreaking deals, including one of the first-ever court-approved corporate arrangement schemes in the BVI and one of the largest single asset real estate financings in China. He is highly regarded by both clients and colleagues and plays an important role in the development of the junior attorneys in the firm. His knowledge of commercial and corporate law in the BVI is extensive. We look forward to the continued growth and development of the department under his lead."

Simpson adds: "Over the years, O'Neal Webster has advised on many high-value cross-border corporate and commercial transactions involving listed companies, global corporate players and high net worth individuals while working alongside major international law firms and fiduciaries. We have also advised on the most significant local BVI transactions to date, all with excellent client service at the forefront. We have an incredible team and I look forward to continuing building on this legacy as we embrace new technologies and new ways of thinking."
