How long have you practiced law and what is your practice area?

I have been a business attorney for over 25 years. My specialty areas include corporate transactions, M&A, and contracts of all shapes and sizes. I moved to FisherBroyles over nine years ago, and it has proven to be a great decision. The Firm's culture makes it possible for me to enjoy the practice of law every day.

Who is your typical client?

The majority of my clients are corporate entities, of various stages and sizes – from start-ups to mid-sized ventures to publicly traded companies. I service industry verticals including consumer products, technology, professional services and manufacturing. Most clients approach me for strategy and guidance regarding a transaction, or to negotiate, review and/or draft a contract.

At FisherBroyles, I never need to swing outside my "strike zone" of the areas in which I am most expert and experienced. This allows me to be efficient and focused, and drive maximum value. My clients also appreciate my ability to quickly bring in other Firm partners with specific subject matter experience to provide a comprehensive legal solution.

How would you describe the Corporate practice area at FisherBroyles?

We are lucky to have a deep bench of corporate and transactional partners. The partners at FisherBroyles are experienced, tenacious, dedicated, professional and entrepreneurial. This is certainly a result of our finely-tuned recruiting and screening processes. We can expertly handle any legal matter across any practice area, and our clients value and rely on this versatility.

How is it different from previous law firms you have worked at?

At FisherBroyles, we work in an atmosphere of collective success, which is exceedingly rare in the world of large law firms. Our unique model rewards collaboration and eliminates compensation disputes among partners. Everyone can be successful at the Firm, and this frees everyone to pull in the same direction. We can all be successful here, and clients benefit as well.

The result is partners take ownership and pride in delivering an excellent work product – regardless of who originated the client. I can trust that my partners will always deliver their best, and I work to earn that same trust from others. It's a game-changer. Our model feels almost magical and sets FisherBroyles apart from all other law firms.

Have you been able to grow/build your personal practice since joining the Firm? If so, how and has the Firm's model enabled that?

My personal book has grown considerably since I joined the Firm. A new phase was entering the prestigious AmLaw 200 ranking, which has opened many doors at larger private companies and publicly traded companies alike. Also, I think clients can feel that I truly enjoy practicing law at FisherBroyles, and that has created a positive spiral in the growth of my book.
