On December 19, 2011 the Argentine Patent and Trademark Office issued Resolution No. M-1735/11 which provides that renewal applications filed as of January 1, 2012 will be granted for 10 years counted from the expiration date of the registration that is being renewed. Thus, the terms will be now immediately consecutive.

Prior to this resolution, renewal registrations were granted a 10-year term from the date on which the renewal application was granted.
