IRVINE (Nov. 27, 2019) – Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm representing employers, announces the addition of Selwyn Chu as an associate in its Irvine office.

Selwyn advises and represents employers with respect to a broad array of employment law matters, including workplace discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; wage and hour compliance; trade secrets; unfair competition; and accommodation and leave issues. He regularly defends employers' interests before administrative agencies and courts, at both the state and federal levels. Selwyn joins Fisher Phillips from Klatte, Budensiek & Young-Agriesti, LLP in Newport Beach, Calif.

A graduate of the University of California, Irvine School of Law, and a member of its inaugural class (2012), Selwyn served as a lead article editor on the UC Irvine Law Review. As part of the school's Appellate Litigation Clinic, he acted as co-counsel to UCI Law's dean on a case before the U.S. Supreme Court, after successfully briefing and arguing the case in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals while still a law student. Selwyn earned his B.A. from New York University (2006).

Able to speak Spanish and Mandarin, Selwyn is a past Peace Corps volunteer and has also previously done pro bono work with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) – a non-profit organization that aims to provide legal representation to unaccompanied children who enter the U.S. immigration system.
