Please join us in welcoming Rachel Cotton, former Deputy Counsel to the President, to our distinguished White Collar Defense & Investigations practice as a partner, resident in Washington, D.C. Rachel is also a member of our firm's bipartisan Congressional Oversight & Investigations team.
Rachel's practice focuses on defending companies, nonprofits, and individuals facing congressional and executive branch investigations, white collar matters, and crisis management. In her role as Deputy Counsel, Rachel advised the President and senior White House officials on legal strategy and managed the White House's legal response to congressional oversight and government investigations involving the President and White House priorities. Prior to this role, Rachel held two general counsel roles in Executive Branch agencies, serving as General Counsel to the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy and as Deputy General Counsel in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. In addition, she served as a counsel for a special investigative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. Earlier in her career, she was a partner at a litigation boutique, where she handled white collar work and complex civil litigation.
With her extensive experience in navigating complex government-facing matters, Rachel will serve as an invaluable asset in strengthening our firm's ability to meet the ever-evolving needs of our clients.
