This new space will accommodate the firm's growing California team, with the office having added nine new associates and International LLM fellows over the past 18 months.
Senior CounselGary Smithhelped establish B&D's presence in California with the opening of a San Francisco office in September 1989, driven by California's leadership on environmental policy that continues today. "Since California was (and still is) at the vanguard of environmental issues and what happens here affects our clients and environmental law nationwide, it was important that B&D, a leading firm on environmental law and litigation, have a presence in California," said Gary. "With 15 years of environmental law and litigation experience since the firm's founding in Washington, DC in 1974, B&D was able to hit the ground running when we opened in San Francisco." This was B&D's third U.S. office, making B&D a true nationwide firm.
