Appleby is proud to have acted as Jersey and Guernsey counsel, alongside Eversheds Sutherland, to Tower Transit which forms part of the Australian listed Kelsian Group, on the purchase of Libertybus in Jersey and CT Plus in Guernsey from the HCT Group.

The Kelsian Group is Australia's biggest land and marine transport provider, and Tower Transit also operates international public transport contracts in Singapore and London.

The Appleby Jersey team was led by Appleby partner Christophe Kalinauckas who was assisted by partner Niall MacDonald, associate Michael Davies and paralegal Holly Tanguy. Partners Jeremy Berchem and Richard Sheldon advised in Guernsey.

Commenting on the transaction, Jersey Corporate Practice Partner Christophe Kalinauckas commented: "It has been a joy to support the Australian listed Kelsian Group on this latest significant transaction for the Channel Islands. We are very pleased with the efforts of our team on this transaction and specifically how we have been able to deal with a multi-jurisdictional mandate of significance for the Channel Islands."

Samuel Ribeiro, Managing Director of Tower Transit, added: "The Group are delighted to take over the reins of both LibertyBus in Jersey and CT Plus in Guernsey and thank HCT Group for their commitment to the Channel Islands over the years and their positive collaboration with the Government of Jersey and States of Guernsey. Our aim is to maintain a business-as-usual approach whilst drawing on the experience and capabilities of the Group in the future. We proudly serve several Island communities in Australia and look forward to extending this high-quality service to the people of Jersey and Guernsey."
