Publicamos a quarta pesquisa anual com clientes da WhistleB sobre denúncias nas organizações. Questionamos nossos clientes sobre como usam seu sistema de denúncias e os resultados que obtiveram com a implantação de um canal de denúncia seguro.

Canais de denúncia criam confiança

Nós intitulamos o relatório deste ano "Whistleblowing: a trusted channel in the organisational ethics toolkit", porque esse é um dos resultados mais impressionantes. Cerca de 50% das respostas mostraram que construir confiança tem sido o principal benefício de se ter um canal de denúncia. Embora o principal objetivo de qualquer canal de denúncia seja permitir que as empresas detectem e atuem sobre condutas impróprias antes que causem muitos danos financeiros ou à sua reputação, a pesquisa indica claramente que nossos clientes estão se beneficiando do impacto mais abrangente de estarem abertos a denúncias. Mais especificamente, mostra que em conjunto com as demais iniciativas promotoras da ética organizacional, o canal de denúncia ajuda a construir confiança na organização, pois salienta o compromisso com a transparência e a abertura.

E como isso acontece? A organização aberta a denúncias indica que seus líderes estão dispostos a ouvir as preocupações sobre atos que violam as diretrizes éticas e mostra que eles estão comprometidos em agir. Um canal de denúncia seguro e fácil de usar permite a "escuta", e um processo de investigação estruturado, sustenta a "atuação".

A quantidade de denúncias recebidas continua elevada

Este foi outro achado importante. A tendência ascendente no número de denuncias continua acentuada pelo segundo ano consecutivo. Em termos de setores, nossos clientes financeiros e os bancos estão no topo e são os que recebem o maior número de denúncias.

Acreditamos que um fator que contribui para o aumento global do número de denúncias é a atitude mais positiva em relação aos denunciantes e à denúncia de irregularidades. Um exemplo é Christopher Wylie, o denunciante da Cambridge Analytica que revelou que o Facebook havia vazado informações de 87 milhões de contas de usuários. Ele não só foi um herói na mídia, mas também foi recrutado pela gigante de roupas H&M para um trabalho que inclui o desenvolvimento de uma Inteligência Artificial (IA) ética. A imagem dos denunciantes na mídia, o aumento da legislação que exige que as organizações tenham esses sistemas implementados e a regulamentação que protege os direitos dos denunciantes provavelmente contribuem para essa mudança na forma como os denunciantes são vistos.

Canais de denúncia abertos a partes interessadas externas

No ano passado começamos a ver um número crescente de organizações abrindo seus canais de denúncia para partes interessadas externos. Essa tendência continuou, com os resultados da pesquisa deste ano mostrando que 50% das organizações agora abrem seus canais para partes externas, como clientes e fornecedores. Isto é significativo, pois indica uma aplicação mais avançada do canal de denúncia por parte dos nossos clientes.

Como as organizações podem construir confiança no canal de denúncia?

Nossos clientes optam por implementar um canal de denúncia para receber informações sensíveis e de difícil acesso que possam ajudá-los a minimizar os riscos do negócio. Mas, para comunicar essas informações, um possível denunciante precisa confiar no sistema. Por isso, também perguntamos aos nossos clientes o que eles veem como fatores mais importantes para construir essa confiança. As principais respostas deste ano foram:

1) Assegurar que a equipe certa e um processo adequado e completo estejam em vigor para lidar com relatórios

2) Ter um canal seguro, que permita o anonimato do denunciante

3) Comunicação adequada sobre o propósito do canal
