We have received reports that the " STELLAR DAISY ", a 1993 built bulk carrier flying the Marshall Islands flag, is believed to have sunk off Uruguay. A distress signal was reportedly sent Friday evening. Two crew members have been reported found in a lifeboat, with others believed still missing although search operations are on-going.

It is carrying a cargo loaded in Brazil and was bound for China. The cargo is believed to be iron ore.

So far as any recovery is concerned, we have identified the vessel's P&I Club. Urgent steps will obviously be required to get security for any recovery claim.
