On the 23rd of November, 2016 the MFSA issued a consultation
document on the proposed revised rule books applicable to
collective investment schemes. This consultation follows and
is a direct consequence of the announcement made by the MFSA on the
1st of April of its intention to consolidate and reduce the number
of fund frameworks which are available to fund promoters.
The consultation process will run until the 5th January 2017 and
the MFSA will consider all comments received from stakeholders
during this time. The consultation document may be found here.
It is to be noted also that the MFSA will be holding an
information session with the industry in order to outline the
changes in the authorisation process. This information session will
be held on 2 December 2016.
