British Virgin Islands Corporate/Commercial Law

Effective December 1, 2015, the British Virgin Islands Registry of Corporate Affairs will be offering premium services.

For a premium fee of $500, the Registry will guarantee a four hour turnaround time for the following transactions:

  • Mergers and Consolidations
  • Continuations and Discontinuations
  • Amendments to the Memorandum or Articles of Association
  • Registrations of Charges

Further, Registry hours will now be from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (British Virgin Islands time) Monday to Friday.

These changes are very much welcome by industry and ensure that the British Virgin Islands remains the most favourable offshore incorporation jurisdiction by far. Additional changes to the Registry system will be announced in the near future ensuring that the BVI remains the preferred jurisdiction for sophisticated offshore transactions.
