By means of a circular issued on Thursday 18th June 2015, the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) noted revisions made to the following Investment Services Rulebooks (Introductions) which now make direct reference to the Guidelines issued by the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) regarding the common definition of European Money Market Funds [ CESR/10-049] which definition was amended by the opinion published by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) on 22 August 2014 ( ESMA/2014/1103) regarding the assessment of credit quality of money market instruments:

  • the Investment Services Rules applicable to Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) accessible here;
  • the Investment Services Rules applicable to Professional Investor Funds (PIFs) accessible here;
  • the Investment Services Rules applicable to Retail Collective Investment Schemes (Retail CISs) accessible here.
