OFAC designated two members of Venezuela's Maduro regime for allegedly enriching themselves and contributing to the ongoing Venezuelan electricity crisis.

All property and interest in property of these individuals in the United States are now blocked, and must be reported to OFAC. Additionally, all U.S. persons generally are prohibited from dealings that involve these individuals.

In a related matter, the DOJ charged the officials with violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
