Yesterday, the Securities and Exchange Commission announced that Wesley R. Bricker, the SEC's Chief Accountant, will leave the SEC in June.  Mr. Bricker has spent more than six years at the SEC, serving as Chief Accountant since 2016.

Sagar Teotia has been named as Acting Chief Accountant following Mr. Bricker's departure.  He has served as the SEC's Deputy Chief Accountant since 2017 and previously served as a Partner in Deloitte LLP's National Office.  As Acting Chief Accountant, he will assist the SEC in its oversight of the Financial Accounting Standards Board and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.  Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Teotia said he is "looking forward to continuing to address the quality of financial reporting through engagement in both domestic and international activities and across the various groups involved in the preparation, audit, and use of financial information."
