Five new members were elected to serve on the MSRB's governing board for FY 2019.

The MSRB Board of Directors ("Board") consists of 11 independent members who are representative of the public, and 10 members who represent MSRB-regulated entities. Of the five open seats, two were for independent members and three were for regulated-entity Board positions.

Beginning on October 1, 2018, Caroline Cruise (Portfolio Manager at Loews Corporation) and Joseph Darcy (retired, former executive vice president and sector head for municipal fixed income at Hartford Fire Insurance Company) will serve as independent members. The new regulated members are Patrick Brett, Managing Director of Municipal Debt Capital Markets at Citi; Francis "Frank" Fairman, Managing Director and Head of Public Finance Services at Piper Jaffray & Co.; and Daniel Kiley, Managing Director and Head of Municipal Fixed Income Trading at Wells Fargo Advisors.
