The CFTC proposal to amend
Rules 23.700-704 on the rights of counterparties to segregate
initial margin in transactions with swap dealers was published in the Federal Register. Comments on
the proposed changes must be received on or before September 28,
2018.
As
previously covered, the proposed amendments are intended to
alleviate burdens shared by registrants and market participants by
simplifying the notification requirement and other provisions.
