SEC Appoints New OCIE Deputy Director

The SEC named Kristin Snyder as Deputy Director of the Office of Compliance Inspection and Examinations ("OCIE").

The SEC named Kristin Snyder as Deputy Director of the Office of Compliance Inspection and Examinations ("OCIE").

Ms. Snyder currently serves as the Co-National Associate Director of the Investment Adviser / Investment Company examination program and Associate Regional Director for Examinations in the SEC's San Francisco Office. She will continue to serve in these roles in addition to her new position.

Ms. Snyder joined the SEC in 2003 and spent her first eight years at the SEC's San Francisco enforcement program as a Branch Chief and Senior Counsel. Before that, she practiced law at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP.

Current OCIE Deputy Director Jane Jarcho plans to retire from the SEC by the end of August 2018.
