The CFTC granted its largest-ever whistleblower award to an individual who reported information that resulted in a successful enforcement action.

The individual received $30 million for reporting CEA violations that led to monetary sanctions. The previous record high was $10 million. Whistleblowers may receive awards amounting to between 10 and 30 percent of monetary sanctions imposed by the CFTC in enforcement actions where the monetary sanction imposed exceeds $1,000,000.
