The SEC named Valerie A. Szczepanik as Senior Advisor for Digital Assets, and Associate Director of the Division of Corporation Finance.

The SEC created the new position of Senior Advisor for Digital Assets to coordinate efforts across the SEC regarding the application of securities laws to "emerging digital asset technologies and innovations."

Ms. Szczepanik has been with the SEC since 1997, most recently as Assistant Director in the Cyber Unit.
