Google reported today that, in 2017, it took down more than 3.2 billion ads that violated its advertising policies.  This includes 79 million ads that attempted to send people to malware-laden sites, 66 million "trick-to-click" ads, and 48 million ads that attempted to get consumers to install unwanted software.

Google also reported that it blocked 320,000 publishers and blacklisted about 90,000 websites and 700,000 mobile apps for violating Google's policies.

"Last year, we were able to remove more bad actors from our ad ecosystem than ever before, and at a faster rate."
