MSRB reported steady trading activity in 2017 for the $3.8 trillion municipal securities market. The findings were contained in MSRB's newly published 2017 Fact Book,  which provides "comprehensive and historical statistics on municipal market trading patterns, primary market and continuing disclosures among other data, and serves as a resource for analysts, policymakers and others interested in disclosure and trading trends." In the 2017 Fact Book, the par amount of municipal securities traded declined by 5% to $3 trillion, but the number of trades increased by 6% to $9.9 million year over year.
