The SEC introduced the new Diversity Assessment Report and asked firms to complete self-assessments of their diversity policies and procedures.

The report was issued by the SEC Office of Minority and Women Inclusion ("OMWI") to complement the Joint Standards established by five federal agencies. The standards were developed to measure the sufficiency of diversity policies and procedures. Entities regulated by the SEC should submit their assessments to OMWI. The information that is collected will be used to evaluate which policies and procedures identified in the Joint Standards have been implemented by regulated entities.

Conducting self-assessments and submitting the assessments to OMWI is voluntary.
