CFTC Commissioner Rostin Behnam named John Dunfee, Laura Gardy and Alicia L. Lewis to serve as his Special Counsel.
Mr. Dunfee served with the CFTC for 17 years, including in the Office of General Counsel ("OGC"), as Counsel to former Commissioner Michael Dunn, and as Chief Trial Attorney in the Division of Enforcement. While with the OGC, he led the team that worked on the Dodd-Frank final rulemaking to establish minimum sizes for block trades for swaps.
Ms. Gardy is in the midst of her second tenure with the CFTC. She first joined the CFTC in 2002 to work in the Division of Enforcement, after which she moved to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Ms. Gardy rejoined the CFTC in 2015 as an Associate Director in the Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight's Registration & Compliance Group.
Ms. Lewis has been with the CFTC since 2009 as Special Counsel in the Chief Counsel's Branch of the Division of Clearing and Risk, where she served as team leader for Dodd-Frank Act Governance and Conflicts of Interest rulemaking.
