On September 7, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released Hospital Inpatient and Outpatient Utilization and Payment data from over 3,000 hospital providers for calendar year 2015.

On September 7, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released Hospital Inpatient and Outpatient Utilization and Payment data from over 3,000 hospital providers for calendar year 2015.

The Inpatient data file includes summarized information on inpatient discharges paid for under the Inpatient Prospective Payment System, including discharges, average Medicare payments, and average hospital charges organized by hospital provider and Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Group.

The Outpatient data file includes summarized information on select outpatient services and procedures paid for under the Outpatient Prospective Payment System, including services, average total payments, and average hospital charges organized by hospital provider and Ambulatory Payment Classification Groups.

The data files can be downloaded in Microsoft Excel format to allow for analysis and comparison.
