The FDIC issued a Financial Institution Letter notifying FDIC-supervised institutions of the recently revised Guidelines for Appeals of Material Supervisory Decisions. The revised guidelines were adopted by the FDIC on July 18, 2017.

As covered previously, the revised guidelines expand the opportunities for institutions to appeal material supervisory determinations and are intended to make the FDIC appeals process more consistent with other banking agencies' processes. The guidelines also make corresponding technical changes.
