The Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) has selected the York, PA based Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC) for the 2017 Immigration Law Pro Bono Award. This annual award, sponsored by Green and Spiegel, is awarded to individuals or organizations working with the PBA and providing immigration services to needy foreign populations.
U.S. Practice Director Jonathan Grode presented the award to PIRC Executive Director Mary Studinzki and PIRC Board President Andy Mahon during a ceremony on May 24 held at the York County Bar. Founded in 1996, PIRC works to provide access to justice for vulnerable immigrants in held detention and in the general community through its commitment to legal services, education and advocacy.
"In this time of great upheaval for the immigration community, PIRC provides hope to immigrants and their families facing grave challenges within our system," Grode said.
Green and Spiegel wishes to congratulate PIRC for its invaluable services to the immigrant community and unwavering commitment to justice. The firm also thanks the PBA for its work in coordinating immigration-related efforts and offering the award.
