This week we highlight Russell Reynolds' "Global Board Culture Survey 2016," which was undertaken to better understand the director behaviors that create a high-performing board culture and drive board effectiveness. The top five most important behaviors identified as key to a strong culture and an effective board were: possessing the courage to do the right thing for the right reasons; willing to constructively challenge management, when appropriate; demonstrating sound business judgment; asking the right questions; and possessing independent perspective and avoid "groupthink."
