The CFTC determined that it was in the public's interest to renew the Global Markets Advisory Committee ("GMAC") for a period of two years. The notice of renewal was published in the Federal Register. The CFTC explained that the GMAC's objectives and scope of activities are specifically designed to assist the CFTC on matters of public concern to the exchanges, firms and market users regarding the "regulatory challenges of a global marketplace."
