The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ("CFPB") requested comments on its proposed amendments to (i) procedures used by the public to obtain information from the CFPB under the Freedom of Information Act, the Privacy Act of 1974, and in legal proceedings, and (ii) its rule regarding the confidential treatment of information obtained from persons in connection with the exercise of its authorities under federal consumer financial law. The request for comments was published in the Federal Register.

Comments on the proposed amendments must be submitted by October 24, 2016.
