Two economists said last week that the presidential campaign of Republican nominee Donald Trump has asked them to revise Trump's tax plan to slash the cost.

Trump's current tax proposals would lower the top individual rate to 25% and slash rates on corporate and pass-through business income to 15%. Both the Tax Foundation and the Tax Policy Center have estimated that his plan could cost in the range of $10 trillion.

Conservative economist and political commentator Larry Kudlow and Heritage Foundation economist Stephen Moore said they hoped to release an updated tax platform within a couple of weeks after the Republican National Convention, which ended July 21.

The Trump campaign did not deny or confirm reports that its tax plan is under revision. Earlier this year, Trump denied rumors that he was working with conservative economists to rework his tax platform.
