On February 15, 2016, the Commission Implementing Regulation on the disclosure of leverage ratios by financial institutions under the Capital Requirements Regulation was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
On February 15, 2016, the Commission Implementing Regulation on
the disclosure of leverage ratios by financial institutions under
the Capital Requirements Regulation was published in the Official
Journal of the European Union. The Regulation provides that firms
must disclose relevant information concerning leverage ratios in
the form of an approved template. Firms will be under an obligation
to disclose a breakdown of the leverage ratio total exposure
measure, a reconciliation of the leverage ratio for a firm's
published financial statements and qualitative information on the
risk of excessive leverage and the factors impacting the leverage
ratio. The Regulation applies directly across the EU from February
16, 2016.
