Congressional Health Policy Hearings And Markups Scheduled This Week

Today, the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee has scheduled hearings and votes on a variety of health policy bills.

Today, the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee has scheduled hearings and votes on a variety of health policy bills. First, the Subcommittee will discuss the following five bills intended to improve the Medicare and Medicaid programs

  • HR 2878, to provide for the extension of the enforcement instruction on supervision requirements for outpatient therapeutic services in critical access and small rural hospitals through 2015
  • HR 2151, Improving Oversight and Accountability in Medicaid Non-DSH Supplemental Payments Act
  • Amendment to HR 1362, Medicaid REPORTS Act
  • HR ____, Quality Care for Moms and Babies Act
  • Amendment to HR 1361, Medicaid HOME Improvement Act

In addition, the Health Subcommittee will be marking up the following health policy bills:

  • HR 2446, To require the use of electronic visit verification for personal care services furnished under the Medicaid program
  • HR 2646, the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act
  • HR 3014, the Medical Controlled Substances Transportation Act
  • HR 3537, Synthetic Drug Control Act of 2015
  • HR 3716, the Ensuring Terminated Providers Are Removed from Medicaid and CHIP Act
  • HR 3821, the Medicaid Directory of Caregivers Act
  • HR 2017, the Common Sense Nutrition Disclosure Act of 2015

Also today, the House Ways and Means Committee is holding a hearing on the status of the Affordable Care Act's Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP) Program. The Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight likewise has scheduled a November 5 hearing on the CO-OP Program.
