John J. Haggerty was featured in the Law360  article "Westfield Beats Trade Secret Misappropriation Claims." Full text can be found in the July 31, 2015, issue, but a synopsis is below.

Insurance broker Westfield Insurance Co. has prevailed in a suit alleging it illegally shared former agent Wellington F. Roemer Insurance Co.'s proprietary information and trade secrets with one of Roemer's competitors. An Ohio state judge ruled that there was no evidence to support that Westfield disclosed or used their former agent's information.

John Haggerty of Fox Rothschild LLP, who represents Westfield, told Law360 that, "we always believed the case had absolutely no merit."

"We are thrilled with the decision," Haggerty said. "It validates Westfield's highly ethical business practices. The independent agency process is extremely important to Westfield, so they value and treat those relationships very respectfully and carefully. The allegations in the case were akin to Mother Theresa abusing the sick. It's something that would never happen."
