When prompted to give advice to brand new lawyers, experienced attorney Clint David responded, "The best tip that I can give to an associate attorney is to become indispensable to somebody! Whoever that senior attorney is, they will place a protective shield over you for now and evermore. Know their files better than they do. Be thorough, detail-oriented and creative in your thinking. Don't be afraid to ask questions — lots of them. It is your job to catch any mistakes made by the senior attorney, not the senior attorney's job to catch yours. Finally, nothing is ever too much trouble, even when it really is."
