United States Intellectual Property

Hoverboards have come a long way since Marty's pink board.

You'll love the Kickstarter video below.

There are certain classes of inventions that when you apply, the U.S. patent office says "yeah right, bring it in and prove it."  Turns out levitating hoverboards fits into one of those classes.  I wish they had a video of his examiner interview.

So what kind of intellectual property does Hendo have?

1) potential patentability of the levitation technology itself or its components

2) potential patentability of the control system

3) potential patentability of the design of the hoverboard

4) copyright in the design documents (i.e., CAD file)

5) copyright in video created for kickstarter

6) trade secrets (there must be, right?)

7) trademark HENDO.
