We enjoy the focus on cybersecurity in October as part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, but the risks and threats are continuous. Our Privacy and Data Protection team is excited to debut a new graphic that illustrates the proactive cyber risk mitigation and compliance services we provide to help organizations maintain year-round focus and diligence.

Over the past four years, we have worked with companies to respond to over 750 potential incidents. Not every incident is a sophisticated, nation-state sponsored, targeted attack or a problem caused by polymorphic malware—many incidents arise from garden-variety lost/stolen unencrypted devices and employee mistakes. We leverage this extensive experience and pair it with the multi-disciplinary capabilities of our team (including CIPPs, CISSPs, and a certified forensic examiner) and relevant industry experience (health care, retail, financial, technology) to deliver strategic advice that helps companies incrementally improve their compliance and risk profile in a cost-effective manner.

Over the next few weeks, we will feature posts by our attorneys describing many of the interesting scenarios with which we have helped our clients deal effectively. For example, we will talk about how we have worked with clients to conduct security assessments, critical data mapping, vendor contract analysis, and incident response/crisis communications workshops to help companies become "compromise-ready."
