As a result of lawsuits in recent years, some clothing retailers have been forced to allow religious exemptions to their look policy, guidelines that are not breaking the law at face value, says Rich Cohen.
"(The) look policy says you have to have a preppy look, that's not discriminating towards anyone on its face," Cohen said, noting that it's the application of the policy where problems can arise.
