In his weekly Realty Law Digest column, Scott Mollen
analyzes two notable real estate decisions. In the first,
Matter of Russo v. New York City Housing Authority, the
court opines that NYC Housing Authority (NYCHA) policies and
procedures include a highly unusual requirement that a husband must
obtain formal written permission from NYCHA before his wife can
move in with him. In the second, Matter of Thompson Corners v.
New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation, the court found that a subsequent owner is not
obliged to provide financial assistance for ongoing remedial action
at a former hazardous waste storage facility.
