Kenneth Rosenberg was quoted in the Law360 article,
"NJ Gov. Reboots Nominees for Vacancy-Afflicted Court."
While the full text can be found in the August 12, 2014, issue of
Law360, a synopsis is noted below.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie resurrected a group of eight
judicial nominees for the Essex County Superior Court, which has
been suffering from an overabundance of vacancies recently.
In an effort to manage this shortage, Judge Doyne has announced
that the court will not be conducting any civil or family division
trials lasting longer than two weeks. However, Doyne also added
that the change, which will go into effect on Sept. 15, will
ultimately depend on the final judgment of the presiding judge, as
well as any previous orders.
Rosenberg, President of the Essex County Bar Association, praised
the apparent deal to advance the eight current nominees and
expressed hope that it would lead to additional judicial
appointments soon.
Rosenberg states, "[F]illing the outstanding vacancies is a
tremendous development because it will not only benefit our
judiciary, their staff and the attorneys who practice in Essex
County but also the public they serve — which is really the
most important point to remember here."
