Pennsylvania's new Code of Judicial Conduct that is to be enforced starting Tuesday, July 1, 2014, not only elevates protection against nepotism, but also enforces restrictions that ban judges from having presences on corporate boards, which experts feel will create conflict in the future.

On behalf of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's task force, of which he serves as co-chair, Abraham Reich voiced support for the newly-appointed anti-nepotism regulations.

He elaborates, "The nepotism rule, which we felt strongly about — we didn't think they'd really buy it. It's not uncommon in Pennsylvania to see a family member working in chambers."

In regards to the restrictions placed on judges holding seats on corporate boards, Reich also comments, "I could have argued why there was a prohibition under the existing code, even if it wasn't explicit."
