The government shutdown status quo continued on Tuesday.
The House voted to fund the Head Start program (H.J.Res 84, passed 248-168) and to pay federal
employees working during the shutdown on time (H.J.Res. 89, passed 420-0).

H.R. 3273, which would establish a bipartisan, bicameral
deficit reduction working group. As with the mini-CR strategy, the
Senate and President Obama have expressed disinterest in this
approach.
