Bloomberg BNA reports that a Colorado woman who managed the accounting department of a garage door company she co-owns was sentenced to 28 months for failing to pay $4.67 million in employment taxes (United States v. Pettyjohn, D. Colo., No. 1:13-cr-00020, sentencing 9/11/13).

Beth Ann Pettyjohn, of Englewood, was sentenced Sept. 11 by Judge William J. Martinez of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and was ordered to pay $4.67 million in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service and a $25,000 fine.  Pettyjohn entered a guilty plea March 11.

Pettyjohn is the co-owner and vice president of Overhead Door Company of Denver (OHD), according to the plea agreement. From September 2003 to June 2009, she stopped paying over the payroll taxes her company withheld from employee wages, as well as the matching portion of taxes under the Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA).
