FY 2014 302(b) Funding Allocations Announced

At a Committee mark-up today, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved their 302(b) allocations for the fiscal year (FY) 2014 budget. The Senate Appropriations Committee allocates $1.058 trillion, with $552 trillion dedicated to defense funding and $506 trillion for non-defense. This is a slight decrease from the FY 2014 President's Budget request of $1.059 trillion, and a slight increase from the enacted FY 2013 level of $1.042 trillion. The Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education (LHHS) bill received an allocation of $164.330 billion; again, just slightly below the President's FY 2014 budget request ($165.802 billion).

In contrast, the House Appropriations Committee approved their 302(b) allocations in May and only approved $966.924 trillion for the total FY 2014 budget. The LHHS allocation was cut down to $121.797 billion.
