The United States Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS) recently announced that as of June 11, 2012, the H-1B Cap had been met. Specifically, USCIS has received enough petitions to reach the statutory cap for Regular H-1B petitions for FY 2013.
Further, the H-1B Master's cap was met on June 7, 2012. On that date, USCIS received more than 20,000 H-1B petitions on behalf of persons exempt from the cap under the advanced degree exemption.
Any H-1B petition received after June 11, 2012 will be rejected by USCIS.
USCIS continues to accept petitions exempted from the cap, including DOD cooperative research worker H-1B petitions and Chile/Singapore H-1B1 petitions requesting an employment start date in FY 2013
