Fox Rothschild has released Data Breach 411, a free iPhone app that helps companies suffering from a breach navigate various state rules and regulations. The app was spearheaded by Scott L. Vernick, a noted privacy attorney and Fox partner.

The only data breach app of its kind, Data Breach 411 includes a listing of the 46 states that have breach laws and links to the relevant notification statues.

Companies "need to know how to proceed if they unknowingly, inadvertently or otherwise find themselves having improperly collected information," Vernick said.

The content of this article is intended to provide a general guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought about your specific circumstances.
